The Italian Mafia increased profits by 8% during 2009 recession

According to a recent Reuters article, Italy’s mafia crime syndicates bucked the recession in 2009 to raise ‘profits’ by almost 8 percent with the financial crisis making companies and even the stock market even more vulnerable to cash-flush mobsters.

BusinessWek: Silicon Valley's Commercial Real Estate Glut

This week issue of BusinessWeek publish a very interesting article signed by Dan Levy. According to the article, the real estate market in Silicon Valley still very bad, with a total office vacancy of 43 million sq. ft. (about 4 millions sq meters). This combined with an unemployed rate of 12% puts the Silicon Valley in one of the worst moments of its history. The situation is not getting better any soon.
