About Me:

Starting one face at a time, Shelley Costantini has worked in the beauty industry since 1992. She began as a make-up artist prior to becoming a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician in the highly competitive Washington DC Metropolitan area. Shelley waxed poetic through salons in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington D.C. notably at George’s at the Four Seasons Hotel and Ilo Day Spa. A cult-like following and clientele followed, and included politicians, actresses Anna Deveare-Smith and Betty White, and CNN on-air talent including Kelli Arena and Christiane Amanpour. Mentor and New York brow guru Anna Martin taught Shelley the ancient art of “eyebrow architecture”, and word-of-mouth turned her barely there bikini waxes into the “must-have” accessory for in-the-know D.C. women. She also diversified her experience by participating in the product design and development for a unique cosmetics line with Elizabeth’s Esthetique, Ltd. & Universal Esthetics, Inc. in McLean, Virginia.

After relocating to San Francisco at the start of the millennium, Shelley brought her east-coast-cultivated talents and experience to the west coast. Fulfilling her life-long dream, she opened her new studio—BellaPelle Skin Studio—in San Francisco’s Union Square in November of 2002. Specializing in brow design and Brazilian bikini waxes, Shelley rapidly established a diverse and loyal following who appreciate her exceptional artistry and understanding of the relationship between skin, bone structure, health and beauty. Not to mention the instant recognition from the “hard to please” fashion magazines, BellaPelle Skin Studio has been acknowledged in Allure, InStyle and Lucky magazine and nominated for The Best of the Bay Area in the SF Magazine. Now with her team of skin specialists, Shelley’s goal is to uncover every client’s most exquisite "bella pelle" — beautiful skin — everyday.
