Dear All,

this is my first entry into this community.
It is night in italy... maybe the best (or the only one) time to think deeply what you want and what you are.
I'm, among others, a young italian entrepreneur in medical field working as mark&sales manager in our family business (distributor of high-tech medical devices mainly from Israel).
Now we are (would be) ready to switch our family business into a producing factory with a real attractive product and project.
But..... it is quite impossible in Italy to start a newcom !!!
We would try to do that by Us capitals/investors.
Do you have any suggestion ?

#1: this is interesting; as a topic in general, and specifically for the manufacturing sector.
#2: any more information you feel like, and are able to, sharing would be great (i.e.: market segment -I'd assume the same of your distribution Co.- market size, segment trend, national vs. international, regulatory issues, etc...), basically a business plan abstract correlated to the marketability and production issues, more than the product itself, which maybe proprietary info, and which meaningfulness could anyway be "obscure" to the general business community...
#3: understanding the size, shares and duration of the investment are even more important than the ROI, initially, to understand the scale of what we are talking about, also known as "what's the deal?"...

Finally, if this is too cumbersome in English, we can switch to Italian, but it may keep away valuable comments from investment specialists (=not a good idea...)

#50: I'm not an investment specialist; I'm looking at this from a manufacturing investment point of view, with the goal of better/clearly defining the "value proposition".
It's the same for me Matteo, I'm a little enterpreneur in Florence, Italy, and I'm coming in San Francisco next week to search for new opportunities. My great challenge is to manufacture and sell directly green and sustainable furniture and their related services. No way in Italy. When you try to explain your work most of your possible investors says:" Hey, good idea! Great!" and nothing else. I've had a contact with the Telecom Italia Venture Capitalist here in Florence.. Maybe you can sign up here http://www.workingcapital.telecomitalia.it/ and find some tools.. I've partecipated to the elevator speech that they've organized in italy last year. They say that they want to replicate the experience around Italy starting in September.. There's a discusison group on linkedin platform..
