co/Auletta is a new project RENA is coordinating on a request by fondazione MIDA and Auletta Municipality.

co/A is both an open contest and a workshop to collect ideas and contributions aimed at the transformation of the Municipality of Auletta – a small town located in the Campania region of Italy that fell victim to the devastation of the 1980 Irpinia earthquake. The goal of the contest is to select the best ideas, design teams, and participants for Auletta’s future development and transformation at both the local and regional level.

Together with snark – space making (as advisor) RENA developed an innovative open ideas contest in order to collect design proposals, management models and process indicators for the transformation of Auletta, starting by its former city center and aming at fostering a 360° sustainable development for the entire area.

The development path includes: (1) a contest to generate ideas and tools to create a vision for Auletta’s future development (2) a workshop to bring the selected designers from the competition phase together with local stakeholders in order to create a final ranking. All those proposals will be the base for (3) a design implementation phase which output will be a public tender for the assignment of project implementation.
