Head of Product Management and Strategy (Game Mechanics and Strategy)

Reporting to the CEO, this senior strategy role is not for the faint hearted. Those who revel in their responsibility, have a passion for their project and a desire to see their efforts make shockwaves around the web will thrive in this role in a vibrant and groundbreaking new social media project where a picture is certainly worth more than just a thousand words!

The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with potential short-term travel to South-East Asia and South Pacific. Salary and an attractive benefit structure (including potential for profit sharing and stock
options) will be negotiable, extremely competitive and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

* Product Management with an emphasis utilization of gaming principles within the business model
* Development of a strategy which incorporates gaming principles into our product, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue generation, user engagement, viral customer acquisition and rich user experience.
* Creation of key game objectives, thresholds, and monetization strategies
* Maximization of user engagement and 'stickiness' through the continual development of gameplay experience and the introduction of novel user retention concepts
* Development of relevant mathematical algorithms and profitability models
* Collaboration with the Lead Engineer (Data and Scalability) and Lead Developer (User Interface and Design) to bring the project's aims and objectives to life coherently and purposefully
* Have the ability and desire to effectively communicate and provide clear reporting to the CEO and a number of international stakeholders

Requirements:

* Previous experience in a senior role with a MMO or other online gaming venture
* A usable and functional degree of technical competence, especially with PHP, XHTML, CSS, Flash, Javascript, AJAX and other web application frameworks
* An ability to think outside the box in the formulation of profitable game models
* Demonstrable and quantifiable achievement in successful monetization and user retention in online or other gaming platforms
* Knowledge of domestic and international contests, privacy laws and COPPA a plus
* Proficient business metrics, financial and mathematical knowledge and ability to develop associated financial models
* Knowledge of and experience with 'Virtual Currency' concepts and uses
* Relevant Bachelor and/or Masters qualifications an advantage, but not essential
* Experience as a developer a plus
