After Rome, now it's the London turn to switch to the right wing.

What do you think about this political trend in Europe?

Mario, welcome on BAIA. My comment woud be somewhat in line with what Michele Ursino said in your other post - I ascribe the results, however different the two realities may be, to a voters' desire for "change" in times of relative hardship (economic or social). From the little I read, Boris Johnson's victory in London may owe more to it to Londoners being tired of "Red" Ken Livingstone as well as Labour's decline in public opinion under Gordon Brown than to the winner's profile. In Rome, my impression is that public security is an issue and that people preferred a "strongman" to an "old" candidate like Rutelli. These sentiments do give us here in San Francisco some food for thought with respect to the message that BAIA carries - not necessarily "change" for itself , but to create new means to tackle new demands, such as opening up our networks here in order to meet the interest that entreprenurs and business communities in Italy are showing for the Bay Area and the Silicon Valley.
Thank you Matteo for your welcome :)

Then, I agree with you to consider Bay Area and the Silicon Valley, BAIA in a specific way, a very special cultural and economic reality that can improve - like you said - new sinergies with italian business communities.

I will ask you in another post something about italian business community in SV :)
See you there.
